Touch is a revelation
With the increase in digital advances, the practice of caring affective touch is becoming essential for mental health and social development. The aim of this workshop is to explore the grammar of touch, facilitating individual and group processes in which we, as knowledge holders, explore the sense that makes us human and define the vocabulary for the next generation. At the end we will present the work in a final exhibition.

As a teacher I am very aware about the effects of the digital advances in children’s social behaviour, their self-reward and general development. The positive effects of appropriate social touch in school children seems particularly important to highlight at present with the climate of fear surrounding any tactile interaction with children in many countries.
During this last year I have been conducting a Research Project about “The effects of Mindful-Touch Shiatsu….” at a British School in Spain, which has given me the opportunity to study in-depth all relevant Neurocientific Research on different forms of touch together with practicing with children different means of haptic communication.
