Collaboration with GP’s: what should you know?
Patients use a diversity of complementary treatments, for many reasons, but almost always because they experience health in a much broader context than only medical. GP’s are not unwilling to refer patients to complementary therapists or doctors, for the same reasons, but lack knowledge and network. Complementary therapists and doctors have much to offer in terms of positive health and would like to collaborate more with GP’s, but lack network and common language.
The Van Praag Institute and the Louis Bolk Institute developed practical tips & tools in the COCOZ project together with a group of GP’s en 6 organisations for complementary therapy to better collaborate for patients with chronic diseases. In this workshop participants will learn about this COCOZ project and the do’s and don’ts in working together with GP’s. They will also be encouraged to discuss these instruments in such a way that they could use them themselves in their individual professional context.
